Here is what you will do: Project Leadership & Technical Ownership - Act as technical lead for HV primary circuit engineering on substation projects (AIS/GIS), from concept through detail design and construction support. - Coordinate and guide multidisciplinary teams, including primary, secondary, civil, and commissioning engineers. - Interface with project managers, clients, contractors, and authorities to ensure technical compliance, constructability, and timely delivery. Primary Design & Engineering - Develop and review HV primary circuit designs, including substation layouts, equipment arrangements, busbar configurations, and HV cable systems. - Define technical solutions in accordance with applicable standards (IEC, IEEE, client specifications, and local grid codes). - Perform site evaluations and feasibility studies to optimize layout, safety clearances, access, and future expandability. System Studies & Technical Assurance - Contribute to and review power system studies such as load flow, short-circuit, and equipment rating assessments to ensure safe and reliable operation. - Ensure technical consistency between primary design, protection requirements, and system performance. - Identify risks and propose design optimizations to improve reliability, operability, and lifecycle performance. Expert Support & Mentorship - Provide expert technical guidance and decision-making support on HV primary circuit matters. - Mentor junior and intermediate engineers, reviewing designs and supporting their technical development. - Act as a reference point for complex technical issues related to HV equipment and substation configurations. Construction, Commissioning & Field Support - Provide engineering support during construction, installation, testing, and commissioning phases as required. Qualifications Mandatory Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Master’s degree preferred. - Experience: 10+ years of experience in T&D primary circuit design and project management, with demonstrated leadership capabilities. Skills: - Proficiency in engineering software tools (e.g., AutoCAD). - Strong understanding of primary circuit design principles, including substation design, overhead lines, and underground cables. - Excellent project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and resource management. - Experience with high-voltage primary circuit projects. - Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, AS). - Effective communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Medium Voltage Expertise & Industrial Applications - Oversee the design and installation of MV networks, RMUs, transformers, and cabling systems in industrial and utility-scale applications. - Advise clients and contractors on best practices for MV installation, safety, and reliability. - Ensure compliance with arc flash mitigation, grounding, and protection system coordination for safe and resilient networks. 3. Project & Client Management - Act as the technical lead and primary point of contact for electrical engineering scopes in multidisciplinary projects. - Manage client expectations, provide technical presentations, feasibility studies, and reports. - Support project managers in budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation for electrical engineering deliverables. 4. BIM Integration & Digital Engineering - Oversee 3D modeling of electrical systems using Revit MEP and AutoCAD Plant 3D, ensuring seamless integration with mechanical, civil, and process layouts. - Guide coordination meetings, clash detection reviews, and BIM model integration across disciplines. - Promote best practices in digital engineering, CDE platforms (BIM 360, ACC), and model-based collaboration. 5. Construction & Commissioning Support - Provide senior-level site engineering support, including construction supervision, technical clarifications, and contractor coordination. - Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover documentation of electrical installations. - Mentor junior engineers and ensure transfer of knowledge on installation practices and commissioning methodologies. Qualifications Here’s what we’re looking for: Required: - Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline). - 8+ years of professional experience, with strong focus on medium voltage systems and industrial power distribution. - Proven track record in MV-to-LV distribution, substations, switchgear, and large industrial electrical infrastructure. - Hands-on knowledge of utility standards, protection design, and electrical safety regulations. - Proficiency in AutoCAD, electrical calculation tools, and BIM workflows. - Strong communication skills and ability to lead multidisciplinary coordination. Preferred: - Working proficiency in Revit MEP and AutoCAD Plant 3D for plant design and coordination. - Extensive field experience (installation, commissioning, site supervision, and troubleshooting). - Exposure to High Voltage systems, renewable energy, process industries, and hazardous area design. - Ability to mentor and train junior staff, fostering technical excellence within the team. Qualifications Here’s what we’re looking for: Required: - Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or related discipline). - 6+ years of experience in structural engineering for high-voltage substations (HV/MV, up to 400 kV preferred). - Proven experience with steel and concrete design, structural analysis, and substation-specific structures. - Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation for substation drawings and layouts. - Strong knowledge of international standards (IEC, ACI, AISC, Eurocodes, IEEE, NFPA). - Solid understanding of substation layout requirements, electrical clearance constraints, and equipment integration.
