As a Senior Software Engineer, you will: - Lead the development and architecture of complex WordPress websites and applications; - Develop and maintain custom WordPress plugins and themes; - Design and implement custom WordPress setups with advanced functionality; - Architect and integrate WordPress with third-party APIs and services; - Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to the team; - Work with the Zitec team and the client's team to ensure functionality needs are handled effectively through native WordPress, custom development, or carefully selected plugins; - Maintain version control and collaborate using Git-based workflows and GitLab; - Design CI/CD pipelines for WordPress projects; - Optimize website performance, security, and user experience; - Lead website performance testing and optimization initiatives; - Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues; - Design and implement containerized WordPress environments; - Perform technical audits and codebase reviews to identify refactoring opportunities and ensure adherence to best practices. What about you? - Expert knowledge of WordPress core, including hooks, filters, and the WordPress lifecycle; - Mastery of custom WordPress development including theme development, plugin architecture, and custom admin interfaces; - Advanced understanding of the WordPress Codex, Custom Post Types, Custom Taxonomies, Custom Fields, Shortcodes, and Admin POST/AJAX functionalities; - Knowledge of PHP 8, including OOP principles, namespaces, composer, and modern PHP practices; - Experience with WordPress Multisite and complex WooCommerce implementations; - Experience with WordPress multilingual implementations (WPML, Polylang); - Advanced understanding of WordPress security best practices and performance optimization techniques; - Experience with WordPress site migrations and complex data transformations; - Expert knowledge of Composer for dependency management in WordPress projects; - Experience with Webpack for building and optimizing WordPress theme assets; - Proficiency with modern front-end tooling for WordPress development; - Advanced knowledge of Git, GitLab, including branching strategies and GitLab CI/CD pipelines; - Experience creating and maintaining CI/CD variables and build processes; - Expertise with Docker, including creating custom WordPress Docker images and configurations; - Experience with both Apache + PHP and NGINX + PHP-FPM configurations for WordPress; - Working knowledge of Kubernetes, including experience with ConfigMaps, Secrets, and debugging applications in K8s environments; - Linux command-line skills for troubleshooting; - Advanced MySQL knowledge for custom plugin development, database optimization, and complex queries; - Experience designing and implementing custom database schemas for WordPress extensions; - Proven experience integrating WordPress with various third-party services, including: - Payment gateways and processors; - Shipping and logistics APIs; - CRM and ERP systems; - Marketing automation platforms; - E-commerce integrations; - Custom REST API implementations. - Experience developing custom WordPress REST API endpoints; - Advanced understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, SCSS/SASS, JavaScript (ES7+); - Knowledge of responsive design, accessibility standards (WCAG), and cross-browser compatibility; - Proven track record of leading WordPress projects from concept to completion; - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to architect complex WordPress solutions; - Excellent code review skills and attention to detail; - Strong SEO understanding and implementation experience; - Experience with website performance optimization and testing; - Excellent communication and collaboration skills; - Fluency in English, both written and spoken; - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. ✨ Nice to have: - Experience in modern JavaScript frameworks/libraries (React, Vue.js) in WordPress contexts; - Knowledge of cloud hosting solutions for WordPress (AWS, Azure, GCP) and ability to make informed recommendations based on website traffic, usage patterns, and budget constraints; - Experience with various WordPress hosting environments: - Azure: App Service, Container Apps, AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service); - AWS: EC2, ECS, EKS; - GCP: Cloud Run, GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine), Compute Engine; - Experience with shared hosting environments like Siteground, cPanel-based hosts; - Experience with content delivery networks (CDNs) and their integration with WordPress; - Experience implementing disaster recovery and high-availability solutions for WordPress; - Experience with WordPress application monitoring tools (New Relic, Datadog).
