Job Description About the Role We are looking for an experienced Data Architect to join our Data & AI delivery practice at Endava. In this role, you will work directly with our clients to design and implement modern, scalable, and secure data architectures that enable analytics, AI, and digital transformation. You will combine strategic thinking with hands-on technical delivery, guiding project teams from data platform design to implementation and operationalization. The ideal candidate is comfortable engaging with business stakeholders, defining architectural blueprints, and being part of multidisciplinary delivery teams that turn those designs into working solutions. Key Responsibilities - Engage with clients to understand their business objectives, data landscape, and technology ecosystem - Design and implement modern data architectures, covering ingestion, transformation, storage, and consumption, aligned with each client’s requirements and technology stack - Act as the technical authority for data-related decisions within delivery teams, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability of implemented solutions - Work hands-on in projects, collaborating closely with data engineers, data analysts, and cloud specialists to deliver end-to-end data solutions - Provide technical leadership in setting up and optimizing data platforms in cloud and hybrid environments - Guide clients on data governance, security, and compliance best practices - Contribute to Endava’s data architecture & engineering community of practice, sharing knowledge and helping evolve delivery standards, accelerators and reusable frameworks Qualifications - 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related roles - Strong expertise in data modeling, data integration, and data pipeline design for analytical and operational workloads - Proven experience with cloud-based data ecosystems, particularly in one or more of the following: - Microsoft Azure (Data Lake, Synapse, Data Factory, Purview) - Amazon Web Services (AWS) (S3, Redshift, Glue, Athena) - Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub) - Practical experience with modern data platforms and tools such as Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, Apache Spark, or Airflow - Strong hands-on knowledge of SQL and Python (or Scala) for data engineering tasks - Familiarity with data governance frameworks, metadata management, and security-by-design principles - Proven experience in client-facing environments; ability to translate business requirements into technical data solutions and effectively communicate with both business and technical stakeholders - Experience leading technical delivery teams and mentoring data professionals.
