Qualifications Required key competencies and qualifications: - Proven experience in software development, cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform) and worked in a similar (architect) role; - Very good understanding of technology stack and design to recommend appropriate software architecture and solutions to complex business problems; - You are able to translate the impact of architecture and design choices on non-functional requirements like scalability, performance, availability and security; - Experience and knowledge of different types of databases; - You can discuss architecture principles and advocate them; - Being able to translate business requirements into technical frameworks; - A wide range of expertise that includes modern operations approaches (e.g. DevOps, SRE), API strategies, application monitoring, agile methodologies, software testing, Continuous Delivery, etc; - Very good fluency in English (written and verbal). As a Technical Architect assigned to Cloud Enablement & Governance and Cloud Services & Support squads, you are responsible for designing the core cloud platform capabilities at METRO Group. You ensure product teams can use Google Cloud Platform securely, efficiently, and autonomously while keeping governance, cost transparency, and compliance in place. You work closely with other teams of the organization (e.g. CISO, procurement, legal) to drive security initiatives and integrate third-party providers into METRO’s cloud security governance model. Likewise, you are on the forefront of securing a complex Google Cloud organization and directly work with Google’s engineering teams to shape their governance products.
