Data Engineer (BI MWP Team) The BI Web & Mobile Team is a specialized data engineering unit that builds and maintains robust ETL pipelines to serve clean, reliable data to Web and Mobile departments. Using Spark and dbt, we process millions of user interactions and transform them into well-structured tables and reports that enable other teams to conduct their own analysis and make data-driven decisions. Our primary focus is delivering comprehensive traffic data and A/B testing datasets, while also supporting the eMAG Ads team with specialized reporting infrastructure for advertising performance metrics. What you’ll have to do: - Develop domain-driven data applications using the following technologies: Python, PySpark, SQL, JupyterLab, Gitlab, Apache Airflow, Apache Iceberg; - Orchestrate assets (timing and dependencies) in Apache Airflow; - Create various reports or complex queries using our internal Data Platform; - Design, code and document effective technical solutions for data acquisition and processing; - Optimize existing reports, improve application performance or speed; - Monitor data quality and current processes performance; - Solve support tickets and actively propose improvements in implementations and standards. - Enforce the architectural guidelines provided to you. What makes you a good fit: - Have strong knowledge of SQL and experience with Data Warehouses (SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, BigQuery etc); - Have 2-3+ years of proven experience as Data Engineer / DWH Developer / BI Developer; - Have experience writing complex data transformation code with business logic; - Have implemented in the past any kind of tests on your code/ data: unit tests, integration tests, data quality tests, etc; - Have experience with at least one programming language; - You know your way with a Unix-based command-line terminal; - Have Spark experience and knowledge of Git; - Experience with a reporting tool like Tableau, Looker etc; - Experience with working on a data warehouse or lakehouse solution.
