Join us, grow faster! Data Engineer (Ads Team) We are looking for a passionate Data Engineer to join our eMAG Ads Team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust data infrastructure and pipelines that power our advertising platform. The eMAG Ads platform generates significant amounts of data across advertiser and customer verticals, and requires timely, robust, consistent and scalable data engineering to support real-time, near real-time or batch data collection, processing for monitoring, data analysis, reporting, training and inference. Our advertising platform consists of a demand-side suite of campaign, budget, targeting management and reporting tools, and a supply-side array of applications responsible for the real-time bidding, delivery and data collection functions of a cohesive PPC advertising Platform. What you’ll have to do: - Design, develop, and maintain scalable data collection, processing, and ETL pipelines from various sources (logs, databases, datalakes); - Create and maintain data models and dataset designs that support efficient analytics, reporting, training and inference; - Implement comprehensive data cataloguing systems to improve data discovery and governance; - Develop automation solutions for repetitive data tasks and workflows; - Build and maintain robust data quality and consistency monitoring systems; - Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Data Analysts, and Engineering teams to understand data requirements and deliver technical solutions; - Design and implement data infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code principles; - Optimize data storage and retrieval systems for performance and cost efficiency; - Ensure data security, privacy compliance, and proper access controls; - Document data architectures, pipelines, and processes for knowledge sharing. What makes you a good fit: - Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one scripting language (Python, Javascript); - 2-3 years of proven experience in Data Engineering or similar technical role; - Experience with ETL/ELT processes and related tools (Airflow, dbt, AWS Glue, AWS Kinesis etc.); - Solid understanding of data modeling concepts and best practices; - Experience working with cloud-based data solutions (AWS, GCP); - Knowledge of data quality assurance methodologies and monitoring practices; - Good problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset; - Good communication skills (Romanian, English); - Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams. What makes you stand out: - Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation); - Knowledge of stream processing technologies (Kafka, Kinesis); - Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes); - Experience with data governance and cataloging tools; - Understanding of data visualization concepts and tools; - Familiarity with monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Kibana, Cloudwatch etc.); - Knowledge of advertising technology and related data structures.
